..I’ll let you lick the hairy razors.
Envy is a serious problem in our society. I was talking with someone the other day and they mentioned how on TV a guy walked in the shoes of an Indian barber or hairdresser, if you’d like. He explained how a barber easily makes nearly 900KD a month from a simple 4×4 rented shop and some chairs and scissors to cut people’s hair.
Now, why did the person and the TV show come off as envious of the barber for making 900KD a month? Sure it’s a nice figure but in order to do that he needs to work every day of the week from 8 in the morning to 12 at midnight, even during holidays since they’re the busy days.
7 days a week, 14 hours a day, every day of the year and he’d get 900KD. What is there to envy, and how easy is it to walk a mile in a barber’s shoe?
The segment was probably done for entertainment purposes but it reflected a cruel perspective from people who can easily make 1,500KD a month from crunching some numbers 3 realistic hours a day, 5 days a week.
End of transmission.
